5-star reviews are gathered from Cerebral clients on

I’ve spent months trying to find accessible therapy and prescribers for my medication. My provider was able to help me with my medication within our 30 min call. She was great and I just feel super grateful I found this app.

Mirella

My overall experience with Cerebral has been exceptional - their customer service is great, responsive and always helpful..and my therapist has been life-changing!

My medical team is professional, responsive, easy to reach, and I feel confident that my mental health issues will be managed properly. I have hope and don’t feel like like “just another case.” They see me as a person.

How much does Cerebral cost if I'm covered by insurance?

If you’re in network, we’ll bill your insurance provider after each session.

You’ll only pay any copays, coinsurance, or deductibles if your insurance requires them, and the cost of medication, if prescribed.

These costs will be charged to the payment method on file, and we’ll let you know what you owe 7 days before we charge you.

Contact your insurance provider if you have questions about what your plan covers or what you may owe after billing.

What does cost share, copayment, coinsurance, or deductible mean?

Even if you are in-network, you could be responsible for additional cost-share fees like copayments, coinsurance, or the full cost of services until you meet your deductible. Each plan is different, so you should refer to your plan’s benefits or contact your insurance company if you have questions about the details of your plan.

  • • Copayment (copay): A fixed amount you pay for covered services at the time of your visit.
  • • Coinsurance: A percentage of the costs of a covered healthcare service you pay after your deductible.
  • • Deductible: The amount you need to pay out of pocket for healthcare services before your health insurance plan begins to cover costs.

Your insurance company will send you an explanation of benefits (EOB) outlining any additional costs. For copays and your deductible, you might be able to offset costs by using tax-free dollars from a flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA). Check your plan for details.

If you use insurance to cover the cost of your services, Cerebral will also notify you of any cost share fees you owe 7 days before charging the payment method on file.

Can I see any therapist or prescriber at Cerebral?

When you choose a therapy or medication service, we’ll show you therapists and prescribers who are licensed in your state. If you are using insurance, we’ll also show you therapists and prescribers who are in network with your insurance provider.

What credentials do Cerebral therapists have?

All therapists at Cerebral have a doctoral or master’s graduate degree (PsyD, PhD, MSW, MSEd, etc.) from an accredited institution. Some therapists are licensed at the associate level, which means they are working toward independent licensure under the direction of a professional clinical supervisor.

Each therapist has their licenses included in their bios, which you can view before you decide to work with them.

Some of these licenses include:

  • • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
  • • Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)
  • • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • • Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC)
  • • Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT)

All therapists maintain or are in the process of obtaining a license to practice in one or more states.

What if my insurance isn’t accepted right now?

If your insurance provider is not currently in-network with Cerebral, you may have other payment options to cover some or all of the costs of your Cerebral services.

  • • You can use your HSA or FSA cards as your primary payment method.
  • • You can submit an itemized invoice (superbill) for HSA or FSA reimbursement.
  • • You can submit an itemized invoice (superbill) as an out-of-network claim to your insurance provider for reimbursement.

Log into your account and send us a message to request a superbill.

Contact your insurance provider if you need help submitting a claim, using your HSA or FSA funds, or have questions about reimbursement.
